History of Race Bike Services
Race Bike Services began in 2001, started by a gentleman called Pete Kerr. Pete was very well known in the motorcycle and racing industry and set very high standards for his work.
He was very excited when he found Tony – finally someone who had the same high standards of workmanship and service that he did. He taught Tony the ropes of the business but unfortunately Pete passed away in the prime of his life.
Tony was offered the opportunity to buy Race Bike Services, which he did in partnership with Graeme Walton. They became the proud owners on 1st July 2009.
Since then, Tony & Graeme have grown the business to an extent that adding a Dyno Tune machine, housed in a purpose built room, has given them that extra niche in servicing your motorcycle and ensuring it is running at its peak performance.
Their reputation for servicing all makes and models of motorcycles proceeds them and they are known in the motorcycle circles as the best in the business for servicing, repair, tuning and suspension.
Born in New Brancepeth, England, Tonys love of motorbikes started very young. His Dad owned many motorbikes and Tony was always helping him fix them.
Tony is a fully qualified diesel mechanic & motorcycle mechanic specialising in suspension.
Tony immigrated to Adelaide in May 2006, starting work for Yamaha World 2 days later.
He also worked at Moomba as a Diesel Mechanic before coming to work at Race Bike Services under Pete Kerr.
In 2009 Tony, along with Graeme Walton purchased Race Bike Services and since then have taken it to the next level.
With his speciality in race bike suspension, set ups, engine work and dyno tuning, Tony is the Go-To Man to ensure your bike – whether race or road, is running at its best when it leaves the workshop.
Tonys favourite motorcycle is a Yamaha R1, 1998 which has owned for the last 18 years and enjoys taking it around The Bend MotorSport Park at Tailem Bend.
Born in Hartlepool, a coastal town north east England, Graeme got into motorbikes as a 16 year old - you know, the old story of working with his Step-dad on a variety of different cars & motorbikes.
After leaving school, he went straight into the motor vehicle trade as an apprentice car mechanic.
On the side, he worked with a rally school building Group B rally car engines before transferring his skills into the motorcycle trade.
Graeme met Tony 1992 where motorcycling was both their main career and hobby.
Graeme immigrated to Adelaide in May 2006, along with Tony. He worked in various other industries until getting back into bikes in 2008, which led to him going into partnership with Tony and purchasing Race Bike Services in 2009.
Graeme wears many hats at Race Bike Services. He is your first point of contact at the front counter, is Head of Purchasing, Head of Service Department and booking of jobs in and also does servicing of your motorcycles.
Graeme has a knack for hunting down all the necessary parts from around the world to ensure that, along with Tonys knowledge, your bike – whether road or race, will be running at its best when it leaves the workshop.
Graemes favourite bike is also the Yamaha R1 2006 which was a 50th Anniversary Edition. He also enjoys going to The Bend MotorSport Park for the track days and to ride a few laps.
